The Cusano Automotive Legacy Begins in Hartford, Connecticut
After serving his country honorably in World War II, Joseph F. (Ozzie) Cusano, Sr. opened his own business in Hartford, Connecticut to serve the burgeoning automotive community. Within a decade, the wholesale/retail parts warehouse called Ozzie's Automotive Electric and Supply, Inc. expanded into a manufacturing facility with high end diagnosis and repair facilities. His son, Joseph F. Cusano, Jr., joined the business as a six-bay service department was added.Joseph’s Sons, Joseph Jr. and Dean Grow their Family Business
Both Joe, Jr. and his brother, Dean, grew up loving cars and knew that their futures would center around motorcars. As Dean puts it, “To make my mother happy, I attended Bentley College and earned my degree with a dual major in accounting and business, but I always intended to be part of my dad's business.”He joined his brother in the 70s, and, together, they ventured into the sales and restoration of exotic vehicles. They shared a passion and ate up every bit of knowledge they could find about the classic car market because they loved working with these high performance motorcars and sharing them with fellow car enthusiasts.
That energy and information translated into a skillset that was in high demand. They sold cars around the globe, with customers in Australia, Great Britain, Holland, and Norway, as well as customers in the United States.
Motorcars Incorporated Finds its Forever Home in Plainville, Connecticut
The business eventually outgrew the Hartford site. The Cusano brothers purchased acreage in Plainville, Connecticut, where they could have the room to perform their many award-winning restorations — as well as show off the results! From the beginning, they gravitated toward the Jaguar marque. “They’re art,” Dean believes. Not a typical independent automotive shop, Motorcars Incorporated is now run by Dean and his nephew, Joseph F. Cusano, III, as a haven for car enthusiasts. They continue the tradition of selling desirable vehicles around the globe. They offer restoration services on classic cars as well as repair, maintenance, race support, sales, and procurement services for every marque.
While the Jaguar marque remains at the heart of the organization, Dean and Joe recognize that one size does not fit all. Whether you own a garage full of E-types, are still dreaming of your first classic car, are ready to purchase the right modern or classic car, or just need an oil change so you can be confident about your work commute, Motorcars Incorporated is a boutique shop with big resources. “Do it right and do it once,” Dean says. Customers agree, most having remained loyal to Motorcars Incorporated and the Cusano family for decades.
