How Lucky Are We?

Motorcars Incorporated and SNG Barratt Group co-sponsored the Annual General Meting for the second year in a row.  It was an honor to be part of this amazing group of Jaguar enthusiasts.

The weekend was a whirlwind of activity with official meetings and breakout sessions.  An interesting question was raised: how are Motorcars Incorporated and SNG Barratt Group related?  We are two separate organizations that work in concert on specific projects.  Motorcars is happy to use parts from SNG Barratt Group in our award-winning restorations.  And since we have such a good working relationship, we were happy to share the spotlight at the AGM and information during breakout sessions.

Speaking of award-winning... we were proud to applaud some of the winners recognized at the AGM, especially those cars we've been honored to work on.

Regionally, Steve and Donna Kalmin shared the podium, taking first place for his 1971 E-Type Coupe in the S2/MOD class (9.99300 points).

Jim and Valerie Cordock enjoyed first place for two cars in 2023.  Remarkably, their 1964 E-Type OTS earned a perfect 100 points!  Not to mention the 99.96000 points for their 1970 E type OTS, of which we're just as proud!

On the national level, we’re applauding Robert Silvestri, who took third in class C14/K8 with his 1998 XK8 Convertible (99.94667 points) and Martha LeClair Worley for her 2019 F Type in C20/F class (99.93000 points!)

Nancy Coombe-Smith placed second with her 1974 E-Type OTS (99.72333 points) in class C7/E3, sharing that spot with Paul Angelico in class C13/JS for his 1995 XJS Convertible (99.91333 points), Vincent Barre in class D3/E2 with his 1970 E-Type Coupe (9.97200 points), and John Champagne in class D4/E3 for his 1971 E-Type 2+2 (9.96200).

And… drum roll… first place for John Champagne’s 1971 E-Type 2+2 with 9.96200 points in class D4/E3 and Steven and Diana Groh won first for their 1958 Lister OTS in class S3/REP (9.98633 points)!

A full list of concours and driver winners is available on the JCNA website.

On another note... people speculate that the work of restoring these cars and fabricating quality components is a dream job.  They're not wrong!  But, Motorcars Incorporated and SNG Barratt Group take our responsibility seriously.  We know that our friends (not our customers, our friends) depend on us.  You spend your hard earned money and valuable time on this hobby.  Sure, a few setbacks and challenges make for a better tall tale but no one buys a Jaguar to be miserable.  We want to help you get on the road and win at shows.   What could be better?

And a BIG thank you to the Carolina Jaguar Club for hosting this year's AGM.  They've worked hard and we appreciate their support!
